The Premier League is well underway, and some things are clear. So, we will not go the usual route and try to guess the winner. Nor do we go the exit route and pick teams to get relegated. We will go between those two paths and on it, too. Do we make sense? If not, let us make the subject of this article clear. We will nail the final table! That’s right! Please take a look at how we sort it all out 20 times, bottom to top, in this article.
20. Wolves
They are the worst team in the league. While they’re still not at the bottom, they will soon be. Even the management change will do them wonders, as Vitor Pereira needs to have what it takes to help Wolves avoid relegation. For more than a few years, they’ve been a good mid-table team in the PL, but after an atrocious summer transfer window, they’ve pinned themselves to go down to the Championship.
19. Southampton
The Saints parted ways with their coach, Russell Martin, just a few days ago. They play bad, and they’ll play even worse under the new manager. Quote us on this: Martin was good enough to promote them from the Championship, and he should’ve stayed until the season ended. Southampton is lacking quality on all sides of the ball, and with or without Martin, they’re going down. If you’re into online sports betting, ensure you put a few bucks on the Saints going down.
18. Everton
Luck will run out at Goodison Park any day now. Sean Dyche is working with a depleted squad, with 38-year-old Ashley Young playing week-in, week-out. While he’s been a master at avoiding the drop in past years, both with Everton and Burnley, everything comes to an end. This year, Everton is one of the worst teams in the league, and they’re playing as such.
17. Leicester
Leicester was the first of the newly promoted teams to change coaches, a clear sign of their ambitions. The only team that entered the Premier League standing above the relegation line at the moment, the Foxes will stay up with Ruud Van Nistelrooy at the helm. Unfortunately, they will have no funds to spend during the winter, but their squad is good enough to avoid relegation as it is.
16. Ipswich
We believe in Ipswich even if many sport betting outlets don’t. Ipswich is one of the teams poised for relegation by the bookmakers, but we don’t see them as such. So far, the Tractor Boys have been unlucky, dropping some already-taken points and losing won matches. With plenty of funds in their purse for transfers and one of the most talented coaches on the Island, Kieran McKenna, Ipswich has what it takes to exit the relegation battle and secure their Premier League status even before the last few rounds of the season.
15. West Ham
The Hammers were wrong not to part ways with Julen Lopetegui weeks ago. They appear to be stuck with him right now, and that approach is not paying dividends. They need to play better. The team needs an identity, and they look to be playing worse over time. This is a season wasted of prime Bowen and Kudus, who are good enough for any top 6 team and need more patience for the London team. If nothing changes soon, West Ham could find themselves in a relegation battle instead of fighting for European spots.
14. Crystal Palace
Despite having some good players in the last decade, such as Zaha and Olise, Crystal Palace appears to be destined to finish anywhere between positions 11 and 16. They cannot go down, and they’re not good enough for a top-half finish. Their manager, Oliver Glasner, had one of the better new manager bounces in the history of PL but failed to build on it this season. Thus, Crystal Palace will once again anonymously finish mid-table.
13. Brighton
While Brighton started the season bright, they are recording a drop in form, and it is evident that other teams have seen through their new manager. The youngest gaffer in the league was the talk of the league for the first few weeks of the new season, but right now, he’s struggling. The Seagulls are in the top part of the table, but we predict their drop; by the end of January, they will be below 10th, and by the end of the year, we see them finishing at spot no. 13.
12. Brentford
Brentford is the new Crystal Palace. Thomas Frank is one of the top managers in the league, but with limited resources and the unique approach the Brentford owner has to transfers and team building, they will always be too good for relegation but not good enough for Europe. When Ivan Toney left, they brought no one to replace him. If they address this matter in January, we can see them doing better than 12th. Until then, we have them where we have them.
11. Fulham
The London team is kicking a few divisions outside of their weight class, and their run of good form and luck will end soon. Fulham has enough quality to remain close to the top of the table, but with limited resources, Marco Silva can only do so much. To remain in their current spot until the end of the season, Fulham needs heavy investments in January, and we all know that is not going to happen.
10. Bournemouth
Another team with limited resources and a top manager. Andoni Iraola is doing great work in South England, and Cherries are among the most interesting teams. Strong on the ball and quick on the counter, Bournemouth managed to surprise many teams this year. While their run of form was impressive, it could be more sustainable. They need depth on the bench and funds to change that in January. Injury to even one of their starters could derail their entire season. If you’re a betting man, go to Stake and wager a few bucks on Bournemouth to finish the season at position No10. They’re too good to go below, but the competition is too good at the top.
9. Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest is one of the teams likely to drop a few points. Nuno Espirito Santo is having Forest play a few notches north of what they are in reality, and at the moment of writing this article, they are sitting at position No4. This is not a realistic position for Forest to finish come the end of the year, and we see them drop as deep as No9spot on the table in May. This is not an insult to this team; it’s just that the competition is too good for them to keep fighting with the big boys.
8. Tottenham
This differs from the year Ange Postecoglou will bring a trophy to North London. The Aussie football expert is an ideal coach for Tottenham; it’s just that they’re playing too inconsistent to finish any higher, and it’s all due to several injuries plaguing the team. No coach in the world could fight for the top-four finish in the PL with Ange’s injury report. Ange will need more time to complete all the puzzle pieces to turn around this Tottenham season. We can only hope Daniel Levy will stay patient, as Ange’s Tottenham is playing the nicest from football despite all the injuries.
7. Aston Villa
It would appear that Unai Emery reached his pinnacle with Villa last year when he secured the top-four finish. This year, it will be much harder to repeat that feat, and we think Aston Villa will end up in the spots that lead to Europe, but it will be far from No4. Their team needs to be playing up to the standard set last year, and playing in the Champions League is taking a toll on the squad. Many players need to gain experience playing on two battlefields, and their CL appearances adversely affect the league campaign.
6. Manchester United
Ruben Amorim took the reins at Old Trafford, and things are already looking better, as evidenced by the recent win in the Manchester Derby. Yet, he is no miracle maker, and this United team needs serious retooling. He is already excluding players from the match-day squad, showing that he Predictions will have a no-nonsense policy implemented from the start. There are no favorites for the new coach, and he will clarify that no player is more significant than him or the club. While fans of Man UTD would love to see the glory days coming back, it will be a lengthy process. This season is already lost. Manchester United will push for the top; there’s no doubting it, but the best that Amorim can do this year is to give the team the 6th spot.
5. Newcastle
While it doesn’t look like that at the moment, Newcastle has the best chances of all teams currently not standing in the top 5 positions to end up there. Their form at the start of the year could have been better, but Eddie Howe has a quality squad that can replicate the form from two seasons ago. If they manage to do so, they will push for a CL spot again. While it might be outside their grasp this year, a top 5 finish is for the taking. Among all the teams fighting for Europe this year, Newcastle is the only one not playing in European competitions. They can maintain form with fewer fixtures while keeping players rested for the big matches.
4. Chelsea
Chelsea is having their purple patch of the season. They will not be able to maintain this run of form, and the drop of such a young team will happen during the congested part of the year in January. With Mudryk doping allegations shaking the club, they will drop from their current No2 position to no4 come the end of the year. Considering the turbulence within this club since Todd Boehly took over, entering the Champions League will be more than a good result for Chelsea after years of missing on that revenue.
3. Arsenal
Mikel Arteta is a good coach, yet he has reached his limit with this Arsenal team. The board has backed him up, he got all the players he wanted, and Arsenal is consistently in the top ten 4 in the league. Yet, the trophies are missing. The fans are already starting to think that with their solid defense, a more attacking-oriented coach would help push them across the line. With Man City dropping out of the title race, according to many (not us), Arsenal might be having their only chance at the title in recent years, but they’re bottling it. While a No3 finish would be a reward for most clubs, it might be a disappointing season for Arsenal.
2. Manchester City
The stories about Manchester City and Pep Guardiola’s demise are highly exaggerated. The man and the team are having the roughest patch of form in the last decade, yet they’re fifth in the table with 27 points from 16 matches after only winning one game out of the last ten. City will come around; we guarantee it. While it might be too late to catch up to Liverpool, Pep will do enough to finish at least second.
1. Liverpool
This is the Reds’ year. Arne Slot took over where Jurgen Klopp left off, and he might win a title in his first season in the Premier League. Mo Salah is having one of the best seasons Predictions of his life and is powering Liverpool toward another title. While they drew their last two games, they still have one in hand and two more points than Chelsea. Arsenal and City are dropping far behind, and we don’t think Chelsea will fight for the title throughout the year. It’s Liverpool all the way.
